X-Wing Miniatures
I have added a quite a few models to my collection. My son is playing also and likes the Rebels so I am trying to keep up with them as well as Imperial. I am sure to venture into Scum and Villainy soon. There are some powerful cards in all the factions so it's not like it's a waste and it keeps options open. I have been sticking relatively close to d20radio's buying guide with a few twists. For instance I have combined all three buying guides and condensed some of the duplicates for now. From tournament research I have been doing it appears the meta is about to flux again in my opinion and I don't want to "stock" up until I can see the next trend is if there is one. Also until I really find a play style I truly enjoy. The ships I have added are as follows.
Core set - Force Awakens
T-70 X-Wing
Heroes of the Resistance
B-Wing
A-Wing
TIE F/0
Imperial Aces
TIE Defender
Imperial Veterans
I am not a fan of Netlisting but it's necessary to understand when getting back into a tournament scene to understand what's winning and why it's winning. Then I can come up with a good counter or strategy against the current list Archtypes. The three major builds are pretty obvious it seems. Imperials seem to revolve around Emperor Palpatine and Various Ace builds. Scum is mostly Attanni Mindlink with a Shadowcaster and various others. Rebels seem to be trailing behind but putting the K-Wing bomber to work and Dash Rendar. I have found some really good tools to help in my understanding at
X-Wing Meta Analyer
and
Xwing Junkies
At these sites you can look up winning lists, individual ship or pilot builds, and get an idea what "everybody" is playing.
